Merri Marine Sanctuary

Stingray Bay Bridge
From our suite at Quality Suites Deep Blue on Worm Bay Road in Warrnambool it is just a hop, skip and a jump to the Stingray Bay Bridge. Crossing over the Merri River to the Merri Marine Sanctuary, we are treated to a spectacular coastal walk  from the Breakwater and over Pickering Point to Thunder Point.

Merri and Middle islands sit just offshore the more than 20 hectare sanctuary which holds a variety of marine life, including penguins who roost and breed on the islands.

The walking track follows the coastline and where at low tide you can explore the many rockpools or just enjoy the views as you make your way towards Thunder Point.

The coastal walk is not a strenuous one, but is probably one more enjoyed during calmer weather. Being on the coastline could see you exposed to some high winds and extreme conditions at certain times of the year.
